"Our annual combine has always been very productive for us,” said Gladiators Head Coach Ron Selesky. “We have been fortunate to unearth many talented prospects over the years, and every season we have invited at least two participants to training camp in the spring. This will again be the case in 2017. Northeast Ohio is a hotbed for football talent and we're looking forward to discovering reinforcements who can add to our continued success and growth this upcoming season."

Former defensive back Dominic Jones, and current member of the Gladiators coaching staff, tried out for the team in 2011 with the aspirations and hope of getting a chance to showcase his talent. Six years and two franchise records later, Jones recalls his experience that day and explains the opportunity that every athlete has in front of them by coming out and participating on January 21st.

“All any athlete can ask for is an opportunity to showcase their talent,” said Jones. “When that opportunity meets preparation only great things can happen. Back in 2011, I attended the free agent combine and I left everything I had in me on the field, hoping it was enough to get me a camp invite. I remember getting that call and I never looked back. I am looking forward to seeing the participants out there competing at a high level. If you got what it takes I guarantee we will find you just like they discovered me back in 2011.”

This year’s tryouts will feature traditional combine testing drills which include the 40-yard dash, short shuttle, broad jump and the L drill. Participants will also be placed into position and group-specific drills. Players must wear comfortable athletic shorts and a t-shirt. The tryout surface will be field turf, so turf shoes or molded bottom cleats are required. No track spikes will be permitted.

**Kickers will NOT be worked out at the Free Agent Combine. Workouts for kickers will be announced on a future date TBD**
