CHICAGO – Spokane Shock QB ERIK MEYER has been named the Week 3 AFL MVP, as voted on by Arena Football League fans.
Meyer (6-2, 210, Eastern Washington) completed 24-of-34 passes for 330 yards and nine touchdowns in Spokane’s 66-43 victory over the Iowa Barnstormers in Week 3. Meyer leads the League in passing yards (928), touchdowns (24) and completion percentage (74.5) through the first three weeks of the season. He is also one of three quarterbacks to have attempted more than 100 passes in 2013 without throwing an interception. Meyer was also voted AFL MVP for Week 1 of the season.
Fans had 24 hours to vote for the award on ArenaFootball.com. Other candidates included Tampa Bay Storm QB Adrian McPherson and WR Joe Hills.
AFL action continues this weekend, as “NET10 Wireless Arena Football Saturday” features the Iowa Barnstormers (2-1) hosting the Philadelphia Soul (1-1) in the 2013 Arena Football Hall of Fame Game on CBS Sports Network.
