PHOENIX - The Arizona Rattlers will host a preseason intersquad scrimmage on Friday, March 8 at US Airways Center. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. with doors opening at 6:00 p.m.
The scrimmage is open to the public, giving fans a chance to preview the 2013 team. Fans are asked to bring a nonperishable food item for admission that will be donated to St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) charities. The box office will be open on Thursday, March 7 from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. for those who would like to cash in their canned food item for a voucher beforehand.
The Arizona Rattlers work with SVdP on a regular basis to help in their mission to serve the needy families in the community by providing services for the homeless. These services range from medical and dental care for the working poor, charity dining rooms, thrift stores, a transitional housing shelter and general assistance for individuals in need.
In addition, the Sidewinders dance team will be on hand to meet and greet the fans and to perform a special halftime routine. Concessions will be open during the event for fans to enjoy food and drinks and official team merchandise will be on sale. Parking for the scrimmage will be free in the arena garage located on S. 1st Street just south of E. Jefferson St.
The Rattlers first home game of the season is set for March 23 against the Philadelphia Soul in an ArenaBowl XXV rematch. Kickoff is at 5:00 p.m. at US Airways Center.
