Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that DL Charles Alexander, 6-4 300, has been added to the 2010 roster. Earlier this season, Alexander signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent before being released just prior to the start of the season.
Prior to his professional career, Alexander played for Louisiana State University, recording 89 tackles and 4.5 sacks as a Tiger.
“From his days at LSU to his days even in high school, Charles Alexander has a pedigree of winning Championships,” Head Coach Rob Keefe said. “Those are the kinds of players we want on our team to help us repeat as AFL Champions. He has tremendous size and unbelievable physical abilities; we are really excited to help him realize his full potential.”
For Alexander, the decision to join the Shock was easy.
“When you play on a Championship team, you have fun playing with those guys. It makes football fun when you play on a winning team,” Alexander explained. “We are going to have a target on our backs and everyone is going to come with their ‘A’ game; but that will allow us to put our best foot forward to defend the Championship.”
The defending ArenaBowl XXIII Champion Shock will begin the 2011 season on the road in San Jose on March 11th as they take on the SaberCats. On March 19th, the Shock will return to Spokane to host the Cleveland Gladiators for their home opener
