Sharks Add Richard on Eve of Camp

JACKSONVILLE - The ArenaBowl XXIV Champion Jacksonville Sharks announced Wednesday that a key member of the team's championship-winning offensive line will return in 2012, as OL Vladimir Richard has been assigned to the 2012 roster.

This will be the 24-year-old Richard's second season with the Sharks. In 2011, he helped anchor an offensive line that allowed just 11 sacks during the regular season, the lowest total allowed by any team in the Arena Football League. He spent a brief period of time with the Spokane Shock in 2011. Richard signed with the National Football League's Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2010, but did not appear in a game for the team.

Richard played college football at the University of Tennessee, where he spent the majority of his time at guard. He appeared in 36 games at the school, and was named to the VOLScholar Honor Roll as a junior in 2008. Richard is a native of Sunrise, Florida, and attended Piper High School.

In additional Wednesday roster moves, the Sharks placed K Marco Capozzoli, WR/DB Terrance Smith, WR John Chiles and WR Maurice Avery on the refused to report list.
