Sharks Add Depth with FB Rustin Phillips

JACKSONVILLE – The ArenaBowl XXIV Champion Jacksonville Sharks announced Monday that fullback Rustin Phillips has been assigned to the team’s 2012 roster.

The 24-year-old Phillips (6’2”, 261) enters his rookie season in the Arena Football League. 

Phillips finished his career at Idaho State, where he was a two-year starter at defensive end and contributed on special teams. As a senior in 2010, Phillips recorded 22 total tackles, notched three tackles for loss and forced a fumble. He tied for the Bengal team lead with 5.5 tackles for loss during the 2009 season.

Before heading to Idaho State, Phillips spent two seasons at the City College of San Francisco, where he helped the team to a Junior College National Championship in 2007. The native of Bothell, WA attended Kentwood High School.
