NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans VooDoo promoted Director of Media Relations Brandon Rizzuto to Vice President/Director of Media Relations, announced VooDoo owner Dan Newman on Friday morning.
“Brandon is the hardest working person in the Arena Football League,” said VooDoo owner Dan Newman. “We were fortunate to hire him away from Nicholls State a little over a year ago, and we’re excited to see him move into VooDoo Front Office Management.”
Rizzuto is entering his sixth year working in the sports industry and second with the VooDoo. He serves as the organization’s media liaison and internship coordinator while also maintaining the VooDoo’s official webpage: www.aflvoodoo.com. In addition to those duties, Rizzuto also oversees all VooDoo social media and the VooDoo’s award-winning game day program The Tombstone.
“Brandon has invested many hours into the New Orleans VooDoo, and works extremely hard to get VooDoo in the media’s watchful eyes and ears. He is a tireless employee and his work ethic speaks highly to his many accomplishments in his young career. He is a pillar of the VooDoo organization,” said VooDoo Vice President and General Manager Jon Norris, who has been entrenched in the AFL as a player and coach since the League’s inception.
Rizzuto, a Metairie native, holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Orleans and is an alumnus of Archbishop Rummel High School. He is also currently working towards his master’s in English at the University of New Orleans.
