Blaze Reach Out to Local Middle School

SALT LAKE CITY – Each year, the Utah Blaze strive to make the community a better place by reaching out to its youth.  Players are once again taking an active stance towards achieving that goal in 2012, as Blaze defensive end Caesar Rayford and wide receiver Aaron Lesue paid a visit to the young men of Joel P. Jensen Middle School.

On January 13th, the pair hosted an all-male assembly in which students were taught the values of staying motivated and setting goals. Rayford and Lesue shared their own life experiences, and stressed the importance of staying away from drugs. Torch was also on hand and entertained the kids with his usual antics, including a push-up contest with several of the students.

“Visiting Joel P. Jensen was one of my favorite experiences because we got the opportunity to share personal experiences about making the right choices and learning to become men,” said Lesue. “I can personally relate to these kids because I had big dreams and had to learn to outwork my competition. We had a lot of fun and hopefully we were able to make a difference in the way they think about life and about themselves.”
