Smith, Sesay & Brackett Added To Valor Roster

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Washington Valor head coach Dean Cokinos announced that the team was assigned veteran Terrance Smith,  QB Sean Brackett and  DL Brandon Sesay. The Valor will kick-off their inaugural season, presented by MedStar, on April 7 at Verizon Center.

Smith brings a wealth of experience to the Valor. He spent five years with the  Jacksonville Sharks where he was instrumental in helping the team win the Arena Cup in 2011. The 2012 season was a banner one for Smith. He set team records with 1,707 kickoff return yards on special teams as well as 2,984 all-purpose yards, earning numerous accolades during his time with the Sharks including First Team All-Arena honors and AFL All-Ironman team. Smith spent the 2016 season with the L.A. KISS and has been a member of the Green Bay Packers practice squad.

“I would like to thank Coach Cokinos for the opportunity,” said Smith. “I can’t wait for the season to start and get to work.”

Brackett has played for the  Las Vegas Outlaws and  Jacksonville Sharks. As a rookie, he passed for for 1,114 yards and 23 touchdowns. He attended Columbia University where he earned First Team All-Ivy league and Honorable Mention All-Ivy league honors. Brackett has spent time with the Qingdao Clipper of the China Arena Football League (CAFL).

“I am very excited to join the Valor,” said Brackett. “They have shown that they are a first-class organization from top to bottom. I look forward to competing and playing for the great fans at Verizon Center.”

Sesay rounds up the new roster additions. He joins the Valor after playing for the  Iowa BarnstormersSan Antonio TalonsTampa Bay Storm and most recently the Portland Steel. He attended College of the Sequoias before transferring to Texas Tech University.

“These are quality signings as we approach training camp,” said Cokinos. “All three are very talented and versatile players that will strengthen our roster in multiple areas. We are very excited to have them on board with the Valor.”
