By Nathan Boudreaux -- A pair of Arena Football League records fell last week as Colorado offensive specialist Damian Harrell and Utah quarterback Andy Kelly etched their names into AFL annals. Harrell, who caught 15 passes for 172 yards and five TDs (57 fantasy points) for the Crush in a 75-54 win over Orlando, now has 51 TD grabs on the year, setting a new League mark for receiving TDs in a season. His 51 touchdowns is also tied for most combined (rushing/receiving/returns) TDs in a season and his 172 receiving yards vs. the Predators upped his career total to 10,137 receiving yards, becoming only the sixth player in AFL history to surpass the 10,000-yard mark.
Since joining Utah less than a month ago, Kelly has guided the Blaze to three straight wins and passed for 312 yards with nine TDs (42 fantasy points) in last week’s 63-52 victory over Las Vegas. Kelly’s nine passing scores gives him 762 for his career, which topped the previous AFL mark of 757 career TD passes set by New York’s Aaron Garcia.
