Professional Career: Asad enters his second season with the Rush after spending his rookie season as Chicago’s third-string quarterback ... he signed a three-year contract as a free agent November 1, 2004.
2005 SEASON: Asad was active for two games during his rookie season – March 6 vs. Nashville and March 13 at Grand Rapids – but did not seen any action.
COLLEGE CAREER: Asad was a four-year letterman (2000-2003) and two-time team captain (2002-2003) at the University of Minnesota ... completed 481-of-847 career passes for 6,660 yards and 55 touchdowns in 46 games ... also rushed for 1,158 yards and 16 touchdowns in his career.
· holds University of Minnesota records for most career touchdown passes (55), total offense (7,818 yards) and career touchdown-to-interception ratio (2.1-1) ... ranks second on the Golden Gophers career list for passing yards (6,600) and completions (481).
· only quarterback in school history with three seasons of 12 or more touchdown passes.
· named to the honorable mention all-Big Ten squad and team MVP as a senior (2003) when his 63.2 completion percentage set a school single-season record.
· threw 19 touchdown passes in 2002, one shy of Mike Hohensee’s school record for touchdown passes in a season ... tied Hohensee’s record of 10 straight games with at least one TD pass.

ü was a PrepStar all-America choice as a senior in 1997 when he completed 116-of-173 passes for 1,679 yards and 20 touchdowns while throwing only 2 interceptions.
ü selected first team all-county and third team all-state in both 1996 and 1997.
· attended Fork Union Military Academy in Fork Union, VA, after graduation from high school.
