2007 SEASON: Dan enjoyed one of the best seasons for a kicker in Rush history. He converted 104 of 115 extra point attempts and 11 of 27 field goal attempts, including a Rush team-record 56-yard field goal March 9 against San Jose. He set team records for PATs made and attempted, and points scored in a season by a kicker (137). He also set a team record by converting 32-straight extra points from March 18 vs. New York through April 21 at Grand Rapids... Connected on all 14 of his PAT attempts and 1 of 2 field goal attempts in the playoffs... Finished the regular season by converting his final 18 PAT attempts, including going 6 for 6 against Kansas City on June 23 ... also nailed 2 of 4 field goals vs. KC... Was 9 for 10 in PATs at Grand Rapids April 21, ending his record streak of 32 straight PATs... Had a perfect day March 24 against Columbus, converting all 7 of his extra points and both his field goal attempts, including a 40-yarder... Had one of his best games as a member of the Rush on March 9 against San Jose, converting all 6 PATs and 2 of 4 field goals – including a team-record 56 yarder.
2006: Had two stints with the Rush, playing in a total of 9 regular season games and all 4 playoff games ... converted 53 of 58 PAT attempts and 9 of 17 field goal attempts during the regular season ... added 3.5 tackles on special teams... Was brilliant in the playoffs, converting 27 of 32 extra points and 9 of 13 field goals – including 4 kicks longer than 50 yards ... converted a field goal on the final play of the first half in each of the team’s four playoff games... Named Offensive Player of the Game after connecting on 6 of 8 PAT attempts and 3 of 4 field goals in the team’s May 28 playoff win in Colorado... Converted a Rush record 11 extra points on 11 attempts and added a 28-yard field goal May 6 vs. Utah... Inactive March 26 vs. Grand Rapids and then released March 29 ... spent 10 days on the practice squad with Grand Rapids (April 11-21) then re-signed with the Rush April 27... Set a team record for kickers with 17 points (8-8 PAT and 3-3 FG) February 18 at Los Angeles... Signed with the Rush February 10 and made his Rush debut February 12 vs. Nashville ... opened the season by converting his first 18 extra point attempts.
2005: Played in 15 games for San Jose before tearing the ACL in his right knee. He missed the SaberCats’ final regular season game as well as the team’s only playoff game... Converted 103 of 122 extra point attempts and 2 of 8 field goal attempts for 109 points in his 15 games... Made 13.5 tackles on special teams during the season.
2004: Had an outstanding rookie season for the ArenaBowl champion San Jose SaberCats, connecting on 106 of 123 PAT attempts and 7 of 15 field goal attempts for 127 points in 16 games... Led the AFL in PATs made and attempted and ranked 8th in the AFL in scoring among kickers... Set ArenaBowl records by converting 9 of 10 extra point attempts June 27, at Arizona... Made his AFL debut February 5, at Detroit, connecting on 7 of 8 extra point attempts and a 24-yard field goal.
COLLEGE CAREER: Dan was a four-year letterwinner (1997-2000) at Portland State University, handling both the placekicking and punting duties for the Vikings... Converted 42 of 46 career extra points and 30 of 49 field goals in his career ... holds 8 school records including career field goal percentage (63.8), field goals in a game (5) and field goals in a season (14)... Named first team All-Big Sky Conference as a senior and second team as a junior ... also named third team All-American as a punter his senior season.
