PROFESSIONAL: 2007: Janek played in 16 games with the Blaze where he recorded 10.5 tackles, including 3.5 for a loss, and 3.0 sacks. 2005-06: Janek played for the Columbus Destroyers and tallied 6.5 tackles in 2005. In 2006, Janek recorded a new career high of 16.5 tackles and one tackle for a loss. 2004: Janek spent the season with the Indiana Firebirds where he recorded 8.0 tackles, blocked one kick and recovered two fumbles. 2003: He played in all 16 regular season games for the Colorado Crush where he recorded a then career-high in tackles with 10.5 including one tackle for a loss. 2002: Janek played in all 14 regular season games for the New Jersey Gladiators and recorded 2.5 tackles. 2001: Janek played for the Milwaukee Mustangs during his rookie season in the AFL where he recorded 3.5 tackles and a tackle for a loss.
COLLEGE: Janek was a four-year letter winner at the University of Wisconsin and was named to the Academic All-Big Ten Conference Team in 1997. He was a member of a Badgers defense that allowed a nation-leading 10.2 points per game and helped the Badgers in back-to-back Rose Bowl titles in 1999 and 2000.
PERSONAL: Janek attended Granite City Senior High School in Illinois where he played football and wrestled. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Wisconsin. Janek and his wife, Danielle, have two sons, Riede and Roman. Janek enjoys power lifting, going to movies and cooking. His favorite team growing up was the Chicago Bears. |
